Barcelona star not getting carried away after Bayern, Real Madrid wins – ‘The season is very long’

Dani Olmo was part of the Barcelona delegation that attended the Ballon d’Or ceremony in Paris on Monday night.

The 26-year-old summer signing secured a 13th-place finish in the final Ballon d’Or rankings while his teammate and teenage sensation Lamine Yamal finished eighth along with winning the Kopa Trophy.

Speaking to the media at the ceremony (h/t SPORT), Olmo described his experience of being “in Paris with the best players in Europe and the world as “unforgettable.”

The Spanish international then delved into Barcelona’s brilliant form this season, insisting that they must keep on continuing what they are doing for there is a lot of time left in the campaign.

“I hope we keep winning, both with Barça and with the national team, so that one of our players can be here soon,” said Olmo.

“The objective is to keep winning, the season is very long in the league and Champions League and we have to keep winning and working to be able to celebrate titles with the fans,” he added.

In the same conversation, the versatile attacking midfielder praised Lamine Yamal, who “is showing a great level at 17 years old,” but added that “in the future, he can be even greater.”
